Mini me

I know that I will sound like a little brat but my Etsy shop is taking more time than expected on my daily schedule! I'm not complaining but soon I might beg my husband to needle felt acorns with me ;) Do you have the feeling that sometimes you just bite off more than you can chew? It happens to me all the time! Do you realise that I dropped out of yoga class because it was making me nervous to miss on some crucial craft time/blog time/photo time/pets time/ oh yes, husband time!!!

Anyway, I took a break and made a "mini me" from a Inside a Black Apple pattern. And why make things simple when you can make them complicated...stitch the entire doll and then realised that the face embroideries are not done yet!!! Oups ;)

work in progress!!!

I'm having so much fun! I'm like a kid on Halloween day ;)

all you need is LOVE!

I just had to tell you....
Saturday, Dan and I are going to an Halloween party. Because we are such a cool couple (!?!) we decided to dress as Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love. My friend is coming soon to give me a haircut...a trashy haircut!!! I'm so excited!!! Do you think that I look like Porta De Rossi ;)

Making lines

October was supposed to be a month of I-need-to-use-my-fabric-scrap. So far, October has been a month of "blip"-I poked- my-finger-again-with-my-felting-needle!!!. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the fact that my etsy shop is doing great. It's just that if I don't get a thimble I will soon get a skin infection ;)

Today, I went back to my beloved fabric stash for the first time in days and I made a little patchwork scarf. Since it was a little boring looking, I decided to try free quilting for the first time. OH JOY! Free quilting is like therapy. It is so satisfying to push the pedal to the metal (my husband taught me that expression...I find it funny!) and move the fabric by following your instinct. Go ahead...try it! You won't regret it!

Note: I know I know...the little owl fabric is totally cute! I ordered it from Miko Design a few months ago. Take a look, she has beautiful things :)

It's open!

After a beautiful fall weekend needlefelting little acorns I'm happy to announce that my Etsy shop is finally open for business! Anybody want acorns?

Also, very important to me, thank you so much for your kind words of encouragement and your ever constant support! You people rock :)

auxpetitsoiseaux...the shop!

What have I done???
I feel dizzy...my dinner is spinning in my belly!
I just opened an Etsy shop!!!

I know that yesterday I said that I would not sell my crafts on Internet but I totally blame the acorns! Yes, those colorful little balls of wool convinced me ;) They wanted to jump in a plane, see the world, meet new people and have a glass of wine...oops, that's just me ;)

I have a few details to think about (packaging, price, shipping, etc.) but next week...where is that glass of wine again???...felt acorns will be looking for new adventures!

Wish me luck my friends!!!

Let the balls begin

First of all, I want to thank you for your nice answers to my "fundamental" questions about selling my crafts. After considerations, I'm sad but also relieved to cancel that project! I realized that it was (1) not financially worth it, (2) a huge time investment, (3) a cause of additional stress and (4) a risk of turning my kitchen table into a permanent craft area...that means eating on the sofa everyday (is it really a bad thing?). I know that it's silly but once in a while I want to "fit in" and since most bloggers have an Etsy shop I felt like a reject. Don't you think that it sounded cool: "Hi, my name is Claudia and sell my indie crafts online. I know, I know...I'm awesome"?

To compensate this temporary let down I took my super sharp felt needle and poked, poked, poked, poked and poked wool into little balls. This easy therapy lead to colorful felted acorns and a thin chance of getting tetanus. Sharp...so sharp ;)
