Are you looking for a simple and cute sewing project for the summer? Something that you can make in a few hours while drinking a nice lemonade in a mason jar (or a warm cup of tea since it is still cold in Montreal). Well, you should try Burda 7517. The pattern is basically a front and a back (plus some other little pieces of fabric but it is just a detail), basic sewing skills and a zipper.

I fell in love with the fabric when I saw it at the store (vintage cottage style). However, the other day, I saw a homeless person that had one of those cheap plastic checks bags. Do you know what I'm takling about? It costs 1$, very big, perfect to carry empty bottles of soft drink!!! So, as a joke, my sewing teacher got me one of those bag! And I love it! Perfect for my fabric stash!
Oh, the vintage "mother of pearl" belt buckle is another present from my sewing teacher :)

I'm now back to my blog after one month of silence. During that month, we finally completed one room in our home. I find decorating to be a challenge. I drool when I read Dwell magazine or flip the pages of Living etc but I always get confused when I try to find my own style. A minimalist (white, modern, simplicity) or a vintage (colors, 70's furniture, kitsch decoration)? I just can't decided. I love both but I can't commit completely to one style! When decorating, is it a faux pas to follow your instinct? I came to the conclusion that I prefer to be surrounded by objects/colors/furniture that I love than by a magazine perfect room. But this is just my humble opinion! What is your best home design advice?
