Say what?

Over the past few months, I mastered my sewing machine (well, almost), I successfully identified bias tape at the fabric store, I learned a few embroidery stitches, I felted wool into small rodents, I discovered the joy of knitting and I installed a zipper. Over the past few months, I didn't understand right away the totality of a project's instructions written in a craft book! I don't know if I'm the only one but even if I understand the meaning of each words separately as soon as I look at the entire sentance I just don't get it. Fold the what where? Cut the template alongs what lines? Sew together part what and what? Peanut, the wee elephant from Last-Minute Patchwork + Quilted Gifts was no exception! It started well but the mamooth like creature (it has a very big head to my opinion!) made me swear at step 4...could be worst I guess! Anyway, I finished it and I was quite happy until my husband told me that Peanut looked like a kiddie version of the American Democratic party (update: OUPS...don't know much about american politics...Republican party...sorry about that..feel stupid now) symbol!?! Political softies...I'm not there yet!!!

I like it! Let's keep Politics out of it Dan...Mr. Peanut is a lot cuter than any Democrat I know!
You did a really good job once again. I am in the process of knitting and have made one mistake so far and haven't taken it out...because I'm afraid I'll make a bigger one if I do. It's all a learning process.

Oh, what a cute and adorable Mr Peanut!

Awww, but look at Mr. Peanut's seriously adorable booty! I personally think cussing and sewing go hand in hand!

I think he is adorable too! He could be British with that colouring!!

Perhaps you should get some Japanese craft books because then you have the perfect excuse to not understand a word they say!! (Unless of course you happen to be fluent in Japanese???)

I love it, that really made me laugh out loud! Your elephant is incredibly cute.

I often lament the fact that red, blue and white look so well together but come with so much baggage. (This coming from an American).

I just found your blog via Linaloo and just have to say that I agree with everything you've said about sewing. I'm still learning and although I have drooled over Peanut in the book have found him a bit scary -- yours is just so lovely
