70s Go-Go dancer

After the tweed vest disaster, a few weeks ago, I was now ready to tackle another sewing project. You know, one that comes in an envelop that contains difficult to work with sheets of thin brown silk paper! Anyway, I purchased McCall's 5555 (a mix of A and D) but it turned out that I looked like a 70s Go-Go dancer. So I "tried" to alter the sleeves, the back, the length, the neck line...well, too many things to call that pattern a success story! I must say that I start to feel a little discouraged about my ability to sew clothes. But good news! I will take a sewing class this fall and hopefully create something nice and one day...maybe one day...manage to make a dress out of an awesome japanese sewing book!

You're funny. A Go-Go dancer would never have chosen that fabric. ;) I like it, and it's much better than anything I could have done.

Well, I think it looks wonderful on you, Claudia - but I understand that the fact that you had to alter the pattern so much, must be rather annoying!!
Isn't it the one from your bathroom photo? I just loved that...such a beautiful happy face in the mirror :0)

The japanese books are simply the best. I have a few of them and the patterns are SO georgeous!! Both Anne-Sophie and I adore them ;0)

Keep up the good work :0)

i love those japanese sewing books, only i think it would be too hard to do it since i'm a terrible sewer :)

I think you pull it off rather well Claudia. Really. I'm thinking more urban chic that go-go. My clothes sewing has mostly ended in disaster. Getting things to fit seems to be the problem. Good luck with the sewing class - I'll be looking out for some tips!

Well, I'm disappointed that the picture doesn't reveal your white patent leather go-go boots!! Actually I think the outfit is rather hip and fun!!
