Today, when I was supposed to work from home and/or to take a well deserved nap, I started to play around with a little mouse softie pattern from Sewing Stars. The point of the exercise was to see how I could eventually transform it (the pattern) into a squirrel...my favorite rodent! So I'm asking you, creative crafters, to pppllleeeaaasssseeee give me technical advise on how to make this little rat (how come my mice always end up looking like rats???) into a "cute" squirrel! And if you wonder why my softie doesn't have a felt tail like on the pattern, well, I kinda forgot that part! To solve that little negligence, I wrapped wool aroung a metal wire and suck it up its...hum...you all know where a tail goes ;)
Have a lovely weekend!

I think he's lovely the way he is! but if you want to alter him, I would give him a wider tail, more like a bever and perhaps fluffy. and in addition, I think they're ears have lots of little tufts on top so I would trim/fluff the tops of the ears too...good luck and I look forward to seeing the result
Aaaaack, that is the cutest little stuffie I've seen!! Sorry that you had to give him a colonoscopy though.....
Very cute rodent! How about using some marabou feather trim wired as a tail.
Very cute mouse. I'll have to try one out, maybe as a cat toy?
As for revising the pattern to make a squirrel, I would say to make the ears much smaller. I'll have to think about how to do a fluffy tail.
Smaller ears, bigger tail for a squirrel, but I don't know why you would want a squirrel after looking at your mouse. He is cute!!!!!!!
I think he also needs a more elongated nose. Not really long, just a bit longer than it is.
Hey girl! Love the mouse! Very cute...how are you doing? Tessa misses Brian - she wonder's why he doesn't ask about her. :)
Love those ears and his little scarf, very cute Clo.
He's adorable! i don't think you have far to go to turn him into a squirrel. I think just work on the ears and tail. Smaller fluffier ears and a giant tale that has the classic squirrel curvature. Of course, don't ask me how you would come up with that tail.
Cute cute cute! Squirrels are my favourite too but mice are pretty sweet as well!
OMG that's SO cute!!
Mouse, squirrel, whatever....he's adorable!!
