You are doing what?

I don't know if you get the same reaction but when I tell people that I love to craft they always have that obvious "question mark" look like if I was a freak from another era! I must admit that except for scrapbooking (sorry but I don't really get it...why use so much paper!?!) and jewelery making the wonderful world of craft is pretty limited amongst Montrealers! However, after some research I discovered a few extremely talented people that live in a 25km radius from my little loft ;) One of those artists is Janick from Nea. She makes the most beautiful embroiderie "wall art". Ok, I'm slightly ashamed but I totally copied her idea and I made a cross stitch (friend: " you must be joking...my grand-mother does cross stitch!?!") bunny hoop frame. My plan is to make a few and gather them on a small wall...just like that! Do you like that idea?

Oh yes, I like very much. I love the wall idea. Very cute little bunny. A squirrel and an acorn next I think!!!

I too have a lot in common with many grandmothers: scrabble, old movies, crossword puzzles, crafts, sitting outside on the porch watching kids play. Embrace your inner old lady!

i love your bunny! and nea's work is so great. you two should get together! it's fun to have crafty friends (locally), you get way less funny looks from them..

It's so cute! I love it!

I am such and old lady, but I can't help it if I like knitting, drinking lots of tea and doing crossword puzzles. It's just so much fun to be an old lady!

What a fun idea.

I get the same reaction from friends and co-workers about my crafty past times. Like I'm a bit off my rocker and questions like why in the world would you do that when you can just buy an x, y or z. On the other hand I'm very lucky to have a couple crafty groups of friends to get together with. Sort of like having a support group for my addiction.

Ahhh Thank you for featuring me, so sweet! :)

haha, yes, I get that too: "Crafting? What? Tu tricottes "des pantoufles en fantex?" hahaha

I still struggle with what to answer when I'm asked what I do as a living. *I* even have a problem with the word "craft" myself. I usually answer "multitasking artist" or something like that. lol

It is true that Montreal's view of crafts is very limited for now, but I think it's already better from when I started selling 2 years ago! :)

Sometimes I bring things with me that I'm working on to the boys' sporting events, but I feel like I try to be very under the radar so people won't think I'm too weird. On the other hand sometimes people seem very interested and curious.
Did you come up with that rabbit pattern yourself? I love that and your photos of it are delicious as usual!

Claudia, I get the same responses from my family and friends. And I totally agree with the scrap booking. I just don't get it. However I haven't figured out a good way to put pictures in an album. What do you do?

I think the bunnies are great!

LOVE the idea.

And who cares what others think! I encounter the same problem. But then when they see the lovely things that come from crafting, they usually change their tune and want to learn.

I think that's a great idea. I have some supplies for a cross stitch pattern sitting on the desk, ready to be used. If only I didn't have so many other things to do.

I love the bunny and love decorating idea that you have. :D Um I hear the, 'Oh you sew/craft? How can you be bothered? It's so tedious/grannish/time consuming,' all the time from friends. But they sure like the stuff I make.

Actually - I love that idea! Your bunny is totally cute! I love her dragonfly though! I'm a big fan of the dragonfly! But very, very good job. I love to cross-stitch. It's not just for grandmother's. :)
