week 18
Oh no, it happened. I had my very first hormone meltdown this week. The horrors I told Dan! Out of the blue, I was ready to divorce in the name of lack of proper clothes! It is crazy how the need to feel good about yourself, especially when you are adjusting to bigger boobs, wider hips and obviously a growing belly, makes you do silly (fine, I will say it again, HORRIBLE) things.
So I politely asked Dan, you know, after I told him I wanted him to sleep of the sofa for the rest of our life, to come shopping with me (I actually needed his money because some idiot stole my wallet Thursday) in an attempt to pimp regular clothes into maternity style. I already went shopping for real maternity clothes and came back home empty handed.
So I got this cute skirt at Old Navy and started operation "It needs to work or I will burst in tears again"! I basically followed this tutorial : cut waistband off, remove zipper, top stitch fly closed, pin jersey waistband to the top and serge around.
Conclusion: I didn't cry when I tried the "new" skirt and we are not getting a divorce ;)

It looks really cute! But you'd better warn Dan - add some sleep deprivation into the hormonal stew and wait and see the tantrums you come out with after the birth!!
Or perhaps that was just me...
fantastic! now if only I could sew. ;)
Oooh! The skirt looks great! I couldn't find any maternity skirts that I liked when I was pregnant.
If you want any of my maternity clothes, you're welcome to them. Have a peek in my belly bump pics and see if there's anything you'd like.
you did an amazing job on the skirt! i love the color too. you showed those hormones who's boss.
you are so totally hip! i am in the markey for stripey long shirts and cool jackets because of you. i heart your maternity style. no frumpy giant patterns for you.
aww, your skirt efforts have payed off, so cute!
