It's winter in Montreal and I couldn't be happier! I love every single minutes that I spend outside: new light, new smells, new noises and new details to photograph! Two days ago, I even enjoyed a walk at -30C but that was a little extreme.
When I'm not walking next to cars stuck in ice/snow, drinking warm cups of tea or listening to music I enjoy the company of my sewing machine. However, as I write these lines I just finished sewing BY HAND my new denim dress lining on the zipper. My teacher says that this is how real seamstresses do it...even if I told him that the sewing machine was fine according to my standards!
Yes, winter is peaceful...for the moment!

Serious dress envy from here. Not to mention figure envy. You look gorgeous in it!
Beautiful photos! That dress looks fab from what I can see of it. How are you liking your class? You have made beautiful pieces from it so far! I feel like I should take one so that I can unlearn my bad habits.
P.S. I received the book! That packaging is amazing!!!
Lovely photos, but -30' that extream cold!
The dress is stunning. I am jealous of you and your time with your sewing teacher!
i absolutely love this dress! beautiful!
The dress is great - the photos too. The -30 C temps remind me of home - though is hasn't gotten that cold in Northern Michigan yet this year.
I love the wintery scenes and your new dress!! It's beautiful!
Oh, your dress is so pretty! I love it!
Your dress is incredible! You want to hear something strange — I enjoy hand sewing. There is something about it I find meditating. Weird. I guess I must like repetitive tasks :).
so far, i'm loving winter in minnesota, but i'm sure in a month i will be tired of it! love your new dress!
I Love the dress...how wonderful to make it with hand sewing! But, I agree with you about the machine. ;)
