...but my belly button is so painful right now!!!
I know that when you are about to give birth, hopefully without unnecessary medical interventions, whining about a sore belly button sounds very futile. However, my soon to be outie is causing me some problems when, for example, I have to bend down to put my winter boots...ouch ouch ouch!!!
In other news, last weekend I went to the opening of a baby boutique with another couple that is expecting a baby this spring-summer. There were some activities, generous gift bags for the first 50 participants (and we made sure that we were there in time to get one) and some pretty nice door prizes.
As I told Dan when I looked at the winners list today, the end of the word is probably coming soon because I actually won! I got two funky booby looking bottles from Mimijumi and a fancy nursing bra of my choice from Bravado. So if you have any tips about nursing bras, please let me know because I'm clueless!

Buy nursing tanks! You'll be grateful to have some coverage (and warmth) on your belly when you lift up your shirt to nurse. Or buy lots of shirts with deep v's or cross-overs that you don't have to lift up. Your wardrobe needs definitely change.
Aww. A sore belly button! I didn't know that could happen. But a boob shaped cup has to make you feel better!
All I know is that I knew very little about nursing bras, wore ones that were too tight, ended up with blocked ducts (and a whole lot worse!) so tanks sound like a good idea. Otherwise find someone to professionaly measure you, they should be able to tell you what your expected new size will be post baby and then pick your winning prize.
Um, the ones that I found easiest for discreet access in public were the ones with a plastic hook at the top (by the strap), where the front would flap down, but there was still a strip of material on each side holding the bra in shape.
The plastic hooks (rather than the metal hooks, like on the back of a bra)were easiest to open and close without fiddling and the strips of fabric meant that it was easier to find the hook.
nb. I should only get one or two now and buy the rest after the birth - when you have a better idea what size your boobs will end up.
I know ALL about the sore belly button, it is terrible! And bending over is just the worst! I am 31 weeks and have had this for a long time now but haven't heard of anyone having it! Luckily, it is not a constant pain... Anyway, hope your belly button is feeling OK today! Best wishes!
