To be honest, I never really had a pen pal but since a few people told me they would enjoy participating in a little snail mails activity with me I decided to give it a try!
So in February, while most people in my part of the world suffer from seasonal depression, I will send to a few blog friends a small sized bubble wrapped envelope with their names carefully printed on it.
My idea is just to write some thoughtful (or silly or random or whatever we fancy) words in a pretty card, add a few simple tucks-ins* (ex: yummy tea bags, handmade stationary, little crafts supply, recipe cards, etc.), send it by the mail and make a lovely lady do a little dance as she opens her mail box. It is that simple!
That being said, I don't want this penpal project to get out of hand so I think that I can still manage to bring snail mail happiness to a few more people (maybe 1-2). So if you are interested, please, let me know!
As for the future, well, one snail mail at the time!
* anything light and flat enough to fit inside an envelope
UPDATE:
Awesome! My little group is now completed :)
Now, it's time to get creative!

Claudia, this is such a great idea! I get way too giddy getting letters or packages in the mail. Would love to join if there's room!
I've been stalking your blog since forever but this is the first time I've ever commented, I think. (Actually, I've been racking my brains trying to remember how we "met" online. I think it was during those heady Project 365 days on Flickr all those years ago!)
I would love to be part of your snail mail exchange, if you still have space :)
If you've got room for one more, I'd love to be a part of your snail mail project. I was just commenting to a friend the other day how much I missed having pen pals to send/receive little treasures.
Oh you've run out of room! I hope you have another so I can get in on the fun next time:)
Rats - too slow... maybe I just have to send out a little snail mail random fun of my own anyway. It's a happy idea.
Oh no I missed the boat! I tried to comment on yesterday's post but my 10 month old kept adding random symbols... so thought I would come back today (when he's in bed...) but I'm too late :( Before I had George I used to send and receive lots of mail but it all went out the window with his arrival (along with everything else in life it seems. Where does the time go?) Anyway, maybe it's time to start getting a little bit of me back :)
Oh well, if any space opens up in the pen pal department add me to your list ;)
Great! Let me know if I am in that group! ;o)
Happy New Year from a reader who doesn't usually comment (I've never been good at this and reading through a reader isn't helping)!
I was rather proud of myself to read through my blog queue during the holidays but obviously I didn't make it past the 31st and am rather upset now that I missed your snailmail announcement... Such a wonderful idea!
If you still have some space for a German living in Jordan, let me know!
