My squirrely valentine

I’m not a big fan of Valentine's day. I’m one of those party poopers who thinks that Valentine's day is an evil conspiracy made by corporations. What? Don’t we all need a cute and fuzzy pink bunny with floppy ears that says “Kiss me”? Well, it seems that the temptation was too big this year and I have not one but two Valentine's day crafts. It started with an easy papercut (nothing life-threatening) valentine from Little Acorn. It has squirrels and acorns (wonderful) and it respects my limited abilities with a blade! I must admit that brown and baby blue don’t scream “love is in the air” but I don’t think that it’s a big deal. I can’t talk about the other craft today because, well, it’s for Valentine day…tomorrow. I want to keep it a secret for my husband who had this panic look on his face when I said that I was planning a little something for Valentine day. Husband: “What, but, why??? We never celebrate Valentine day. Now, if I don’t want to look cheap, I have to get you something! ” I just hope that it’s not a cute and fuzzy pink bunny with floppy ears that says “Kiss me”!

He, he I like this post and I'm a party pooper too!! I love your pictures today and bravo on your little squirrel masterpiece, very well done. Yes I do think you should buy a wisker. This one came with the cocoa pot but they also sell them at Stokes, do you have that store in Montreal?
Any kitchen store should have one and they are really inexpensive about 5.00, worth it just for the fun. They do an amazing job on milk, good luck.

Gorgeous Claudia! That doesn't look like limited ability to me. We don't do Valentines here either (apart from preschool stuff with the children) but last night I was invited to a stamping/craft night and made my husband a Valentine's card...I know not to expect one in return!

Try as I may to tell my husband no cheesy chocolates, every year I get them! Loving your squirrels. Lovely!

It looks like you've mastered the x-acto knife! I love your colour combination and that's a beautiful cat. I knew you could do it! I refused to answer last night when my husband asked "So...just what's expected of me on Valentine's Day?", so we'll see what happens.

Success!! You did it Claudia, very sweet! Actually Valentine's day is my favorite holiday, because I don't even pay attention to the commercial stuff. I just think of kleenex boxes converted into valentine mail boxes, and sweet homemade things.

Haha! Great Valentine-post. My husband and I are of the same species that doesn't like Valentine-madness. You made a nice and delicate work!
