The manly bunnies

Men and women are, I would say, pretty much equal on many aspects. However, when is the last time that you saw your husband/boyfriend overwhelmed with joy at the sight of new Japanese fabric, luxurious merino mohair yarn or colorful felted wool beads? Taking that into consideration, I always think twice before I start a new craft project. Will my husband have the impression that our loft is slowly getting transformed into a doll house? Will his masculinity be challenged in his very own "house" (it's rented)? I believe that compromise is a key aspect in a relationship. I want pillowcases with bunny embroideries. Ok, no problem! I just need to make sure that the little critters, designed by Orange flower, will look manly enough so that my husband will feel comfortable to lay his head on a bunch of bunny butts. After all, that's probably the first thing that he will see as soon as he turned off his alarm clock!!!

Claudia,

I have this same template from orangeflower and am looking forward to making it and the baby chicks too! I like your use of "Manly colors" - sometimes pastels are just so normal - right!

I think you pulled it off Claudia. Manly without being macho, cute but not too girly. A difficult balance to strike!

Very well written my french speaking friend! You know, after 10 years of marriage I don't even consider if he'll like it! ;) Is that bad???

Yes, the color choice was excellently manly! At my house I have to fight to add any girlishness, with a husband and three boys. I consider it my duty to expose them to things like embroidered pillow cases and toenail polish and felted wool orbs.

I agree the colours are very good for boys. Husbands are funny! They just need their own hobbies if they are picky for manly things! Mine's just taken up photography, because he kept hanging around my sewing corner, and bothering me, so I said you need your own hobby!

I hope your husband is happy and proud of such a crafty, clever and thoughtful wife as you...how sweet of you!

I would love waking up with my head on your pretty rabbits.

I really like the way how you also take your husband´s feelings into consideration. That shows so much affection. I´m happy that my husband likes almost everything I find cute or beautiful, but of course not everything and not always. Sometimes I need to compromise, too...

Beautiful, Claudia! I love the colors you chose. Your stitching looks great, too!

Those bunnies are sweet; I hope they go over well with your husband. I think they ought to. It's not like they're pink with hearts on them or anything, right?
If my husband ever said anything about how I decorate, etc. (he hasn't yet after 14 years) I think I would just remind him how girly I *could* have made them. Hee hee!

Your bunnies look perfect! I can't see how your husband could complain about those. They're so manly I might have to call them "hares" or "jack rabbits" instead of sweet bunnies (which we all know they really are).
