To compensate this temporary let down I took my super sharp felt needle and poked, poked, poked, poked and poked wool into little balls. This easy therapy lead to colorful felted acorns and a thin chance of getting tetanus. Sharp...so sharp ;)

Let the balls begin

Oh lovely you ! Love your acorns. Very nice project. And yes, sometimes some choices have to be made, it gives more space for other creative projects.
Hey Claudia, I recieved my little package in the mail today - thank you so much! The acorns are very sweet, I guess the caps I sent you weren't the right size - they look different? Anyhow thanks again for your super cutescraps!
I love the little acorns! Very cute. And I agree, selling becomes a chore and crafting no longer becomes fun....
those acorns turned out to be super cute.
small personalities, I would say!
What fabulous little felt acorns!
OOoooo brilliant acorns! nice work! I know what you mean about Etsy I often think I would love to sell things I make but I work so slowly it would take so much time and become a chore, I think I would love all the wrapping and packaging though teehee x
I absolutely adore those acorns!!!! As soon as I'm over this cold I'm going hunting for acorn caps.
Totally with you on the etsy thing. I want it and don't want it at the same time. The practical side of me stops me every time I think about it. How's this? Maybe we're actually the cool kids because we don't have to worry about keeping up an etsy shop!
you're not a reject for not having a shop. :) the reason i have one is i love bookmaking, but i don't need any more books. i love the design process, and then sitting down and producing. i actually made around 50 books the summer of 2004, but didn't have a place to sell them (i was too lazy to sign up for craft fairs). so they sat in boxes until last fall when i opened up my shop. i see my shop as a way of unloading the end result of a burst of creativity. for me, it's about the process and production: the final result i really don't need, maybe someone else will? if i considered it a "job" or relied on the shop for income, it'd become less fun. sorry for the long comment! :)
Just between you and me, etsy shops aren't all they're cracked up to be! I had one for a short while, selling our snowpeople prints. I think I only sold five prints and then I closed the shop.
Your acorns are too adorable for words. I love them!
I'm with Painted Fish Studio - I use my etsy shop to share stuff I have too much of. I'm not really in it to make money and my shop is often empty, but it's fun occasionally to pop something in.
I think that's the beauty of etsy - it's low cost, low effort, no big deal stuff.
But I find it hysterically funny to tell people in real life that I sell my things on the internet (particularly pompous people who liked to look down their noses at me when I was 'just' a housewife)!
Go on, pop a few of those wonderful acorns in a shop - I'd buy one!
You know if you did want to re-think your re-think i'm sure that those cute acorns would go down well on Etsy!
