Like spring...even summer

I just finished a dress with the help of my sewing teacher and I must say that when I look at it I feel like spring (we are still wearing winter clothes at the moment) or even summer. It's such a colorful fabric and as strange as it may seem one of the few black pieces of clothing that I own. The dress is at 99% inspired by a Nani Iro pattern but adjusted to my skinny-flat-boobs-long-torso-kinda-wide-hips body! I can't wait to wear it!!!

Since my Lines & Shapes books are still orphans (the winner didn't contact me with her address) I just picked another winner. And the winner is: sarahkeith from Dear Little Water.

Have a lovely week blog friends xox

your dress came out so beautifully! I have that book too and I think that you (and your teacher) are right to be inspired by the patterns but to modify them too. good job!

PS Is double gauze hard to sew? I have some that I haven't had the chance to use yet. any tips?

The dress is fantastic! I think that the fabric is just perfect (I am a black freak but that fabric would mean I was wearing colour!)

Beautiful - you and the dress.

Your dress turned out beautifully. I made a kimono-style dressing gown with the same fabric (pale blue version) and love it. I can imagine it would feel so good as a summer dress.

Did you purchase the fabric in Montreal? I bought mine in NYC, but am hoping Nani Iro is available somewhere near me.

Bummer, I e-mailed you my address at clo_wn@hotmail.com because that's the e-mail on your profile page. Is that not valid anymore?

such a pretty dress!

and as for the "naughty" french book, it's more like mischievous...it has a lot of swear words and slang. :)

Claudia! I'm just now catching up on your blog after a long time away and it's fantastic!

I am obsessed with Nani Iro and have the book with this pattern, but can't figure how to make it -- I'm going to try this weekend, though :)

I'm in your part of the world, now -- we moved from LA to Vermont last year -- so I'm sending you good thoughts from down here!
