This week I will watch...

...Babies. This documentary (2010) takes a look at one year in the life of four babies from around the world: Mongolia, Namibia, San Francisco and Tokyo.

I heard that it was visually stunning but the reviews are so-so. Maybe you have to be in the mood (and I think that I'm in the right mood!) to appreciate this film. Have you seen it?

I thought this film looked interesting too! It was playing a few places in Toronto, but I missed it. Would be nice to hear what you think of it when you see it :) I know I'll get around to watching it one of these days!

I loved it. After watching it I was really in awe of how quickly babies/young toddlers develop, and how similar this development is despite differences in culture and environment.

All that aside, they're just really freakin' cute. When the Japanese baby had a toy-related meltdown, my heart exploded.

Love the blog! :)

WHOA, I haven't flicked over to your blog in ages, and now have read up on all your news! Congratulations to you and Dan, and YAY for your refashioning to maternity clothes that are cool!

All the best, and hope you're feeling well xoxo

I love your blog when you post about your craft and your art and I am very excited for your expected bundle of joy, but it would be nice to see more art and less baby.

um, for the record i disagree with anonymous. your baby, and your excitement and prep ARE art. love it.

we watched babies last week. i love, love, loved it. i was only slightly disturbed to see how much i related to the typical american family - we like to think we live simply but mateo has many toys, went to mom & baby yoga, etc. sometimes i want to move to a place with no internet or tv or video games or shopping malls.

I watched it while pregnant - it definitely sets the mood! I was most interested in the newborn stage because that's what I'm anticipating the most now.

The husband and I watched this a couple of weeks ago and... meh.

Honestly, I'm squeamish when it comes to breastfeeding and there was a heck of a lot of that going on. I know it's natural and a personal choice, but it gives me the willies. It was hard for me to focus on anything else lol
